When A was at Eyman, the reason given for rejecting Amazon was that they couldn’t confirm that the book I sent come directly from Amazon and not a third party (although I don’t see how it’s that hard to figure out). So regardless of whether you order it directly from Amazon and you’re 100% sure it isn’t third party, it will likely still be rejected. This is because Amazon is not an authorised vendor. Barnes and Noble are though. So if you’re sending books and cds, then you definitely can do this through their US website.

Thanks Frankie..I don t think Arizona allow Amazon at all...I opened a B &N account..just need to get the hang of the site...

You have to buy from a store, not an individual seller on Amazon for the book to be accepted. You also have to read what types of books can be sent. It's generally best to stick to paperbacks.

Oh that was Michigan Kirsten...

If it's Arizona, Amazon is not allowed. Sad, but true.

Sherry...prisons make everything as difficult as fuck...they are hoping you'll juyst stop bothering...my friend in michigan wanted a book..i ordered it from amazon..we did everything right..the bellends at the prison claimed there was no delivery slip with it..i managed to copy it and jpay it to her...but it was a hassle and I don t want to put a target on her back by her having to fight for her things...its annoying

Thank you for your reply CLW.  I made sure it was directly from Amazon and not a 3rd party, Then he sent a reply after the book had come..and said!  Sorry about the book, If you sent it through Amazon, Im not allowed to have it. So im starting to believe he just didnt want it..and maybe had it sent back. So..its all good either way.  It just threw me off where he said IF you sent it from Amazon im not allowed to have it...i just dont believe thats true.  Thanks again!

Arizona won’t allow Amazon. They haven’t for around 5 years now. They say that they can’t guarantee it’s directly from Amazon as opposed to a third-party Seller.

Usually Amazon is okay, but there are still some rules and they vary for each facility. I believe TN accepts only books from Amazon itself, not a third party that sells through Amazon, and it has to be a soft cover book, hard covers are not accepted. Maybe it has to be a new book too, some states accept used books, not sure if TN does. It also could be your book was sent without receipt and they couldn't verify the seller, or the book was denied because of content. There are a number of reasons why a book could be denied, and those reasons often don't make any sense. You can just try again with a different book if you want to.

Hello...I sent a book through Amazon to a prisoner in Tennessee.  The book was returned and not accepted!  I assumed that most prisoners were allowed books through mostly Amazon, Are they starting to disallow this now?  In most states?  Im not sure what happened.

I managed to send my gal.pal in Michigan a book via Amazon...of course the prison made it as difficult as possible and claimed there was no delivery slip with it so they refused to give it to her..I had to jpay a copy of it to her..thank god she has jpay..if it would have been snail mail..we'd never have got it done..

No. You can use an international card for B&N. I’m only talking about the Securepak

Do you need to have a US card and a US address to send a paperback book through Barnes and Nobles? Or is it kind of an exception made for people worldwide?

PPAz83

Really? I just gave my UK passport details and that has never been a problem for me. Although I am still in England and can’t attest to Michigan!

You could get on your DR pps phone list if you ever wanted to talk but I don’t think you’ll be able to send more than paperback books and/or put money on his books

Thanks Spriggs...oh well..I got no chance of that then....I wanted to visit my galpal in Michigan...but the were unable to do a background check as I'm a Brit living in ( mainland) Europe..sigh...

You have to be an approved visitor to send a Securepak and you need a US card linked to a US address.

You can send paperback books through Barnes and Nobles US site.

If you go to the ADOC site and to ADC policies, dept order 914 gives you some more info that might help.

You’ll need to call Florence’s Administration to speak with them directly on +1(520)-868-4011

Thanks..I looked thru some of the prisons do's and don'ts but there was no mention of paying for anything from overseas..it just said on no account can anyone go buy stuff..pack it and send it...and apparently Arizona has gone stupid and disallowed Amazon now...anything to make life difficult...

You can use your credit card on any international website, and I think -not sure- that it's ok to send a package that you directly bought from an approved vendor if you send the package directly to the prison. But you should check the prison's policies to be sure.
