Hello

I received a letter from an inmate in SE/Central Texas. He told me he found me on Natasha's Pen Pal Service and I do not remember signing up for this. When I googled this service, I did not find any results.

This was the only place I could think of posting this. I am not signed up for any prisoner-pen-pal service so I do not know how he would have gotten my information.

How do I go about getting rid of these letters? He has my address so I don't know what to do.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thank you everyone for your comments so far.

I have never corresponded with anyone in the prison system before so I don't know how anyone would have my address.

"Natasha's Pen Pal Service" has got to be code word for something.

I wonder, are there website where free people can post pen pal ads that appear in prison catalogs/magazines?

I received an unwanted letter a couple of months ago who gave me some made up way as to how they got my address. I wouldn't worry about it. Just toss the letter. If you should get another from the same person you can easily contact the prison and put an end to it.

This is pretty common.  I would bet "Natasha's Pen Pal Service" is just something inside the prison.  Inmates give you address to other inmates all the time.  Throw the letter away.

This happens quite a bit in Texas. Your address was passed on, stolen, or sold to another inmate. I would suggest you don't write back to these unsolicited messages. They're mostly just fishing expeditions to see how easy you are to scam.
