I write to someone on dr in Ely, I think my first letter took about 2/3 weeks to get delivered, we now send letters through the jmail website, normally he writes on a Sunday so I assume that’s when they get their mail, there’s normally about 2 weeks after I send off my letter until I get a response from him, I’m also from the uk, hope this helps

This forum doesn't have a PM option any longer since summer of last year. Sad, but true.

Can take a week to arrive in UK but depends on whether they apply the correct postage usually 3 stamps will get here quickly. If they only use one stamp could either be returned to them or goes the longer route and takes 2 - 4 weeks to arrive.
Be aware if they are out to county your mail will be returned because thier not held at thier facility if they are at appeal court.
Also if these are indigent they only receive a certain amount of free stamps from the facility. I'm not sure if this is weekly or monthly.
Happy writing.

I'm not in England, but in Germany. So I can't tell you how long it takes to the UK.
To Germany, I had anything between 6 days and 8 weeks. First replies usually do take longer than later ones, at least that's my experience.
