Hi all and many thanks in advance for your help!

I am writing to a prisoner on death row in San quentin. I am writing from the UK and because I am shielding I cannot go to the post office so I buy the postage from the royal mail website and I print out the address label and customs label at home and I then have to stick them to envelope. Am I better using glue or selotape or will neither be accepted?

Many thanks xxx

Hello Hopeful11

I am UK based too and I can see exactly where you are coming from.

I believe that as long as you are only applying glue or sellotape to the exterior of the envelope to secure the address label you will be OK. If there is any glue or adhesive applied to the envelope contents inside  it will very probably be contravenng corrections facility rules.

In the past I have applied sellotape to the exterior of a prison bound envelope in order to make sure it was properly sealed and this hasn't been an issue.

I hope this helps!
