Hi, everybody.

I am not about to go to prison right now, but it is possible that I might at a later date.

I am on a prescription medication, and my question is will I still be able to get it in prison? If I do not get this medication, I will gradually get more and more sleepy until after about 6 months I will only be able to wake up for a few minutes per day, and death will most likely follow.

My question is, will this medication be available to me in prison? If not, then it is a horrible way to go and I will make sure that I am not captured alive. If that means taking a few cops with me, well, I would hate to do that, those guys are just doing their jobs, right?

Anyways the medication is called Androgel. Costs about $260 per month. (I have somebody on the outside who would pay for it if possible.) Does anybody know about this?

Thanks for your help on this.

Why I was worried is that I once employed a technician, who was tragically murdered. One of the best techs I ever had. They did arrest a suspect, but the suspect died while awaiting trial. Cause of death was a cerebral annurism caused by improper management of his type II diabetes. How hard is it to manage type II diabetes for a couple of months? Just a few shots and a few glucose tests.

Anyways, this left me with no feeling of closure at all. My personal opinion, based on the evidence, is that the suspect may have been guilty. But we will never know. How much better it would have been if the suspect had stood trial, been found guilty, and still be living on death row today, in constant fear of his life.

There is concern among the courts that prison medical care may not be adequate in general.

I just wanted to know what my own chances would be, and I think that you have answered my question. Once again, thanks.

Testosterone is a necessary hormone, the body cannot function without it. Androgel is one particular medication that provides it. For dull details see here:-

I don't know for a fact but I'm pretty sure that when you get to prison they are going to give you a once over. If the prison doctor determines that this is medically necessary then I'm going to guess you will get it on the tab of the prison. If he says it's NOT then it doesn't matter who you have willing to pay for it.

well, thats really a hard question to answer. I would recommend that you speak to your lawyer about this so he can bring this up in court,
