When it rains, it pours and when that happens people tend to drift away with the clouds and the storms. Even though the weather is rough at this point in my life, my hope is to find a friendship that holds a bond that can't be broken.
The love in my heart runs deeper than the water that divides our nations. I use to crave and admire materialistic things but since I came to prison I've gained a different outlook on life. The man I've come to be longs for the things that can't be seen or touched; love, friendship, companionship, trust.
Just recently I've started to understand that every time we fail we receive a secret gift, so it's only right that we embrace each mistake for further growth. The mistake I made was turning to alcohol….just because my heart ached. Until I woke up in a cell with nothing but a cloud of thoughts to enter my mind like a quiet storm.
My nationality is Colombian and African American. I enjoy writing poetry and the outdoors so much that I'm working on my first book and am a Wildland Firefighter by trade.
