If These Scars Could Talk
5/28/2019

If these scars could talk,
What would my wounds say?
Would they speak of pain,
Endured along the way?
Of broken hearts left in my wake,
Of tears, prayers went up in vain?
If these cars could talk,
The monologue would be of sorrow!
Mistakes of yesterday,
And the uncertainty of tomorrow!
Would they explain how they were inflicted?
Each one painting its own individual picture?
Possibly sing as one in harmony,
For all to hear their testimony?
If these scars could talk,
They’d tell you they’re not of the flesh.
They’re on my heart,
For those who love me best.
Each tear that they shed,
Is another slice to pay the debt.
