If These Walls Could Talk

10/17/2020

If these walls could talk they would speak of the pain we endure on a daily basis, of the hurt and tears that show on our loved ones’ faces. They would speak of the over sentencing of the corrupt C.O.s that beatings that take place behind the scenes. If these walls could talk they would tell you about the nights I sit up crying as I remember sitting beside my grandmother in those church pews. How it hurt so much not being able to say goodbye but in my heart I knew she is one of God’s angels flying high.

If these walls could talk, they would speak on the fact that not everybody in prison is dumb, ignorant, and heartless. They would speak on all of the intelligent brothers and sisters that made a lot of mistakes; that if they could take them back they would in a heartbeat, regardless of the price or what it would take.

They would speak on how being young we take so much for granted. How we cheat on and mistrust out women, the most vital species on this planet. The bringers of life, the mothers of affection. How I miss just an intelligent conversation with a beautiful woman. How I miss the small things such as the smell of her shampoo, the softness of her touch, or the way she stares at you when she thinks you’re not looking. How I will never take another woman for granted any longer as long as I have breath in my lungs. Being young we take our freedom for granted, never realizing it is so precious. If these walls could talk they would tell you how I long to walk out these gates in 2023, be the best new me I can be and never take my freedom or life for granted again. If only.. If only these silent walls could talk…
