I wasn’t looking for nothing, I wasn’t tryna’ make amends
somehow all this hurting turned my questions to demands
Watching my family struggle added passion to my plans
am I talking in circles or do you truly understand?
Stand on your principles, move through life with a purpose
actions without reasons means your movements less than worthless
sometimes my reflection reminds me of a different person
I used to embram ‘em but now I’m breaking curses
You are who you are and you can’t help who you love, granny told me
Though I comprehended until experiences really showed me
I was loyal to the streets ‘cuz they showed me love when I was lovely
Outsiders called me heartless when I needed someone to hold me
You dreaming, I do the same!
Breathing, I do the same!
Difference is I don’t treat life like it’s a game.
