Hi, my name is David and I am on this platform to hopefully meet a new friend.

One of my favorite quotes states, "It's not where you're from but where you're going." It may be cliché for some but for me it means everything. Where I am from in a lot of ways represents the person I used to be... a follower, a misguided teen, a liar, a pretender, and many other labels. However, where I am going represents the person I am today... focused, compassionate, motivated, driven, and awake.

For a period in my life, I took everything for granted. I was completely unaware of what mattered/matters most (real family & real friends) because I chose to believe in the idea that money and status meant more. That false narrative/worldview gradually led me to eventually lose everything. Though, through failure, I have learned to appreciate life. I entered prison without a G.E.D. but through grace, and alongside values I learned from various people and programs I was able to earn two degrees.

I entered the system with no skills and today I am a certified Service Dog Handler. In retrospect, I train service dogs for wounded war veterans coming back home with physical and mental scars. I am an individual who cares more about the people around me; I was once just too afraid to actually look around. I believe in inner growth, thus, if you do too then I guess we have something in common.

I'm looking forward to learning from new people, so hopefully, you like what you see and decide to hit me up. Thank you for your time and take care.

Sincerely, David
