My name is Donny Blakely, M-39243. I'm 6'1", 290 lbs, with brown and white hair and blue eyes. I was born on October 19, 1976. I'm not a bad person; my drug and alcohol addiction led me to a place I should've never been. I pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, and I am open to telling my story. I love the outdoors, fishing, camping, and hunting. I love country music, but I listen to everything from country to R&B. I spend most of my time working in the kitchen, watching TV, reading, and listening to music. I have six beautiful children—three boys and three girls—and five grandchildren.

There aren't any programs in here for people like me that have a lot of time, so I'm hoping the State of Illinois brings back the parole system. I don't have a lot of friends out there; it seems when you have a lot of time, people forget about you. It gets lonely in here when you really don't talk to a lot of people on the outside, so I would really enjoy some conversation, laughs, and maybe even shed some tears.
