In Flux (Of leverage and levity)

To hate the soundless sounds,
Like sunburnt backs.
Jumping here and there to escape
The passive psychic sores;
That these micro-grains
Polluting my veins
In vain, have
Surrendered to a Slavic weeper’s woe
Pleading:
1,2,3,4,5,6 – flip a card.

Inebriated by the toxic sounds –
The grinding; the gnashing; the pound(ing) of
The fear in a fool’s flesh
Made manifest
By cogs and wheels;
Intrepid teeth of gears that wield
The anxious eyes, pulsing
The metronome of the years
Begging:
1,2,3,4,5,6 – flip a card –
1,2,3,4,5,6 – flip a card.

A callous ketch
Tracing shadowy steps: in step
To shrink to our depths.
And with each lasting lunge –
Our purgatory –
We plunge
Facing the sweat of
Our gasping lungs…
Alone we’re silent;
Together we count;
1,2,3,4,5,6 flip a card;
1,2,3,4,5,6 flip a card;
1,2,3,4,5,6 flip a card…
