My name is Freeman Dane Swan. I’m 40 years of age and I am currently serving time for 2 years in Colorado Department of Corrections. My goal is to connect with individuals who are sympathetic to the needs of offenders spiritually, emotionally and mentally. I’m hoping to gain and develop positive contacts and relationships which will transcend these walls and correspondence. Creating new friends and acquaintances upon my release is of the utmost importance to me. I’ve been struggling with substance misuse for years creating a pattern of recidivism. However, at this juncture in my life, I am claiming victory over addiction, trauma, poverty, loss and lack. Creating this profile is part of my recovery and taking initiative to make my life lived on purpose and intentionally. I am honest, gregarious, kind, a man given to prayer, friendly, considerate and optimistic.
Life is too short to live by chance and arbitrarily go through the motions. I feel that at this point in my life like I did when I was 18. Like I can become whatever I want to be. As if the world is at my fingertips because I’ve learned from my myriad mistakes and refuse to take losses I can prevent. I come from a military family. I lived overseas in Germany, experienced all of Europe as a teenager. I graduated top of my class, was Homecoming King, have had minor success musically, graduated college majoring in massage therapy and have had an interesting life up to this point.
With hindsight comes 20/20 vision. Insight allows me to finally know who I am and be comfortable with myself. Foresight gives me the power of choice, allowing me to manifest my destiny and choose my own adventure. Asking for prayer. Looking for opportunities. Peace and Blessings.
