My dearest future pen-pal,

My name is Jerry W. Sapp, but most of my friends and acquaintances call me Basil, a nickname given to me by my uncle when I was a kid. I am a 50-year-old Libra, born on October 23rd. I am light-skinned with brown eyes, 5'7", and weigh 230 lbs. I keep a low haircut and learned at an early age to take pride in maintaining a good appearance no matter what my circumstances are.

I am originally from Atlantic City, New Jersey, but I have been incarcerated for over 20 years. I was accused and convicted by a jury of several counts of robbery, criminal restraint, and weapon offenses. Subsequently, I was sentenced to a lengthy amount of time. However, I am currently going through an appellate process and maintaining my faith that justice will prevail. I therefore welcome your prayers if you are a person of faith.

On a lighter note, some of the things that I enjoy most are drawing, reading, music, working out, and sports, primarily football and basketball. I also enjoy studying scriptures and all aspects of Christianity. My faith has been such an important part of maintaining my sanity and health throughout this experience. For that reason, I like to invest in my spiritual life daily.
