My name is Jesse. I've been incarcerated since January of 2018 for distributing meth and marijuana in Waterloo, IA. When I got sentenced I received a 25 year sentence with a 99 month mandatory. Since then most of my friends have turned their backs on me and my girlfriend broke up with me. So I've been doing my time pretty much by myself without being able to communicate with anyone that I love and care about.
I'm 42 years old now and to be honest prison is not where I envisioned living out my 40s. I can't really justify why I started to sell drugs. To be 100% honest I just wanted to be able to buy my Mother and brother Christmas presents and be able to provide for my girlfriend. I know now that what I did was wrong and it is a mistake that I will never make again.
I would like to find a few people that I can correspond with while I'm serving this sentence and if they could help me establish some positive contacts once I'm released, that would be awesome.
I'm doing everything that I can do to better myself while I'm in here. Being in prison is not an experience that I want to endure again.
I look forward to the day that I get released. I'm a very kind, caring person and I promise I'll have nothing but respect for anybody that contacts me.
