Howdy! My name is Joel, but a lot of people here call me Tex--mostly because I'm from Texas.

I graduated from high school there in 2010. Back then I played a lot of sports, played trombone in marching band, and did theater. After HS I went to Stephen F. Austin State University where I received my BA in Theater with a teaching certificate. Being from the south I have a lot of outdoor hobbies, like hunting and fishing. I enjoy gardening (especially tomatoes), and I like hiking or just walking through nature. Pine trees are my favorite--having grown up in the part of Texas known as the Pine Curtain--although they seek to destroy me with their pollen every year. I also love animals and have a dog (Rupert) and three cats (Boo, Finnley, and Dodger).

I now live in Los Angeles. I'm not a fan of the traffic but there is so much to do. I enjoy karaoke, eating at new restaurants (def sushi or anything Asian), going to concerts, and most of all, Universal or Disneyland. My favorite thing at Universal is HarryPotter World. I went to Disney so much I decided to work there. I was in the entertainment department for about seven months. It was the best job I ever had, and I’m sad I can’t work there anymore. I love Thunder Mountain, the train, the Mark Twain Riverboat, Haunted Mansion (especially in the fall when it’s A Night Before Christmas).

My other hobbies include watching TV (and ant-keeping videos on YouTube), reading sci-fi/fantasy, learning languages, cooking, writing music, and singing. I hope reading this you can see me as the person I am and not the situation I’ve found myself in. I’ve made mistakes that I will live with until I die, but I am no less human. I have dreams and fears; I’ve had triumphs and failures, and I can do nothing more than try to rebuild my life and be better.
