If It Was Me

Police are killing innocent people at an alarming rate,

And none of its hearsay, everything is caught on tape.

Even with that overwhelming evidence, free, away they walk,

I pray for the mothers whose sons lie in chalk…

People like myself who have no money,

Get sent straight to prison, but the thing that’s really funny,

Is I ain’t even do sh*t but protect myself from harm.

THE JUSTICE SYSTEM IS ON FIRE SOMEONE PLEASE PULL THE ALARM!

They threw me in a cell with a bail extremely high,

And put cellmates in to live with me so they could testify.

Then here comes the lawyers who work in the same office,

Of the mother of the man who died so they saw each other often,

They said “you have no chance, it is what it is”,

“Take a plea deal if you ever want to see your kids”.

I did what they said and lied on the stand,

I told them that I robbed, and in cold blood killed that man.

The point I want to make, what I want to talk about,

Is everyday another rich person pay their way out,

No matter what they did, murder, rape or touched a kid.

It makes my blood boil to the point where I am livid,

There are too many scandals in the news today that I cannot name them all,

But if “it was me” who was accused of any current scandal,

All I’d get is one free call…
