Born in New Jersey, Mario McClain A.K.A. Baby is a poet, model, artist and aspiring journalist birthed to two very culturally diverse parents. Mario has a unique ability to communicate and connect with everyone who has had the chance to meet him. Fused with the American culture, his Dominican, Japanese and Black roots proves to be a distinct melding of what makes him so one of a kind. His nickname Baby began as a child initially as Baby too sweet by his mother who passed away when Mario was 4 years old. Ironically Mario knows that this name directly relates to his experiences in life hence the quote, “Living and experience birthing the realization that spiritually he’s still a child”. Growing up an Army brat that had a knack for poetry and writing what he felt and saw in his neighborhood, it became his voice but when his childhood friend was brutally murdered, Mario took a nosedive and fully immersed himself into the street life.
Before his tumultuous spiral out of control, Mario admired other poets and great thinkers like: Maya Angelou, Napoleon Hill, James Allen, along with historical, revolutionary figures “Che Guevarra” and “Huey P. Newton”. His first poem as a child was titled, “I Think Hearts are Purple”. His writing prowess has gained him notoriety with the poetry jam with his work such as “Song Bird Parable” and “Magnum Opus” among others. He has also modeled for “Truk Fit” and “Crooks N Castles”. Mario is currently finishing an urban novel which will be released under the writing pseudonym “M Dot Baby” with “My Blocc Ent.”. He is most definitely one to watch. Stay tuned.
