Samantha Hughes is 28 years old and incarcerated in New York, USA

I have been incarcerated since 2015 and will be released in 2025 or sooner. Over the course of the past eight and a half years, I have facilitated a trauma group focused on family violence, childhood and domestic abuse, obtained my certification to work in a law library, completed a vocational program in General Business, completed all mandatory programs, and earned my Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts. I currently work for the Department of Motor Vehicles as a call center representative and am almost finished with my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. I am also attending classes offered by Columbia Business School on Entrepreneurship.

At this point in my bid, I am seeking an accumulation of mental, emotional, and financial support, as well as resources needed not only during incarceration but also for transitioning back into society after nearly a decade. I am trying to hit the ground running and open my own business upon my release. I look forward to meeting genuine people with whom I can network and build meaningful relationships.
