Hello there,

My name is Scott, and I am hoping to meet someone interesting and possibly develop a lasting friendship. I made the worst mistake of my life when I was 21 years old, and I have been in prison ever since. My crime is terrible, and I regret it more than anything. I long ago determined to become a better person, and I have indeed been very busy over the last 25 years. Through a private grant, I earned a bachelor's degree in behavioral science from Ohio University. I've become a certified paralegal, beekeeper, tutor, and mechanic. I have completed nearly all cognitive, alcohol treatment, anger management, and self-help classes that the prison has to offer. For the last 15 years, I have diligently studied and practiced my faith in the Roman Catholic Church. I believe I have become a better person, and I hope to have the opportunity to demonstrate this to the Parole Board within the next few years.

I am a very easy-going person, open-minded, and receptive to new experiences. I would say I'm fiscally conservative and supportive of a merit-based society, hugely supportive of personal liberty as defined by the individual, and I am a strong advocate for the rule of law. Both of my parents have passed, I have never been married, and I do not have children. My family situation is indeed grim. At 46 years old, I may have missed the bus to have a family of my own, but I certainly feel the pull should I be released in the near future.

I exercise regularly; I run about 6-8 miles per week, do calisthenics, lift weights, and play sports (mostly softball and volleyball). I am healthy and free of any medical conditions. I enjoy reading. I don't read too many novels these days, but when I do, I mostly enjoy science fiction (especially the Dune series). I'm a big fan of Friedrich Nietzsche and Thomas Hobbes. Presently, however, I am deep into mathematics. Starting in 2020, through Portland Community College, I completed the five-course calculus sequence, differential equations, and linear algebra. I am currently studying set theory and real analysis on my own. My immediate goal is to enter a graduate school program in mathematics/statistics (hence all the math prerequisites). I have the undergraduate degree, the GPA, the funding, and certainly the drive, but as of yet, no university will give me the chance to enroll. I keep searching, though.
