My name is Shaheed.
I believe we are all more than the worst things we’ve ever done. Redemption and reconciliation are gifts we all deserve. My struggle with positive change has been a long and hard road where I realize that real lasting change begins in the heart. Failing to address my past and not facing my fears has hindered my growth. When I started to understand the root cause of my anxieties and the past events in my life that led me to prison, I was able to make meaningful change.
I am currently enrolled in the Tufts University Prison Initiative of Tisch College Program (TUPIT). I plan non graduating in December 2021 with an associate degree in liberal arts. Also, I’ll be continuing in the program to get a bachelor’s degree in civic studies. In 2023 upon my release, I will enroll in law school to become a lawyer. My interests are prison reform, criminal justice, and environmental justice.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
