Greetings and Salutations. My name is Thomas and I am pleased to meet you.
The time I’ve been incarcerated has proven to be an arduous journey, but for me, has had worthwhile results. Long hours and hard work have allowed me to overcome what has previously defined me. Capitalizing on my time has allowed me to find my spiritual center, create a clean and productive headspace, and learn to not only like, but to love myself, to be able to say, ”Hey man, you’re doin’ alright”. It’s nice to be able to not go about making devastating choices based on a lack of emotional intelligence and pain.
It’s time now to start the latest chapter in my life which includes Release and Re-Entry within the next eighteen months (possibly less). I’ve always leaned toward being an introvert, but if there’s anything I learned over the past ten years it’s that it takes reaching out to build a positive support system.
Prior to prison, I was (and still am) a dedicated father, cook, and developing tattoo artist. Channeling those creative talents has given me a chance to hone new gifts as a published poet, a skilled painter, GED tutor, and a respected member and teacher in my religious groups. I’d be remiss if I did not state my love for the band Bright Eyes and the writings of Mary Karr.
I can’t wait to hear from you as our lives can only grow from sharing.
