My name is Zack. I am an inmate in the North Carolina prison system. Before coming to prison for "white collar" crimes in 2004, I practiced law for over 25 years.
I have 4 children, which I miss more than anything.
In prison I have tried to remain productive by becoming an author. Having been an attorney, I had the necessary command of the written word to be an author, but learning how to write in an interesting manner, then actually writing a novel in prison has been a challenge. To learn more about my journey as a prison author, see my blog.
My first book is a fantasy novel, like "Lord Of The Rings" or "Eragon". It is now in the form of a typed, 600 plus page manuscript, ready for professional editing and publication.
Everything I read says it is helpful to network with others in order to learn how to be a better writer or how to get published. I would like to correspond with anyone who has experience with writing for publication. I am particularly interested in communicating with those who have written or helped someone write and publish from prison, or are willing to do so.
Although I have family and friends who have been very supportive, I don't know anyone who has written and published, nor do I have the resources to hire professionals. I would love to correspond with anyone about their thoughts, advice, or experiences in writing or publishing.
