Anthony Johnson 37002-066 photo

Hello friends, prayer partners, and international acquaintances. My name is Anthony Johnson, but my friends call me "Dr. J" because I earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Christian Education from a Judeo-Christian seminary college in 2022 during my seven years of incarceration.

I am currently a postdoctoral research scholar offering to study Technology and Enterprise Education at the University of Bedfordshire (UK). I teach GED, ESL, and financial literacy at the prison. During my incarceration, I have found my purpose in life: I LOVE TO TEACH! I plan to teach at the college/university level upon my release and have developed a tutoring platform to further that agenda.

In addition to teaching, I have authored and published nine (9) books that I have coined my "post-pandemic debt economics" series. I wrote these during the nadir of the COVID-19 pandemic, during shelter-in-place lockdowns, in a maximum security United States Penitentiary. Because of my extraordinary efforts, I have been recommended for nomination for the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2022. (I will not learn whether I have won the prize until October 2023). However, to have been recommended for nomination is exciting!

For leisure, I enjoy hiking, cycling, water sports (even though I cannot swim), and physical exercise for at least 20-25 minutes per day, with yoga and stretching. I enjoy Jazz, Latin Jazz, Latin music, Latin culture, Latin cuisine, and love to travel. I speak English, Spanish, French, and Italian, thus my love for Latin culture. I have traveled to Japan, South Korea (including the 38th parallel or DMZ, which separates North/South Korea), the Caribbean, Gibraltar, Spain, Tangiers, Morocco, and the Middle East.

In fact, I was arrested while disembarking an Emirates Airlines flight from Dubai, UAE, doing boots-on-the-ground research for my master's thesis on U.S. economic security policy in the Middle East, at Orlando International Airport in 2016.

I also love theater, the arts, Broadway shows/musicals, and attending live classical symphony orchestras. But the ultimate form of relaxation for me is to walk the beach with the sand in between my toes, to watch the sunrise and sunset, every day.

In His Name,
Dr. J
