On July 21, 2003 we received the following correspondence from Ms. Smith. This message was written on her own accord before we had a chance to contact her. We have no further statement to make to the media on this subject and prefer to let Ms. Smith´s letter speak for itself.

To Whom It May Concern,
Due to the recent media coverage of my ad, I would like for you to remove my ad from the web site.
I apologize to you for all inconveniences this may have caused your company. Had I known it would have been sensationalized, I would not have placed the ad.
I would like to commend you for creating this site as it is a great way for prisoners to meet new people and create friendships. There are many who have no family or friends supporting them. Your web site creates a way to ease the loneliness of so many.
I thank you for your service during the time my ad was active and I thank you for your support. Your kindness has not gone unnoticed. I pray you will continue your good work.
May God bless each one of you who has a hand in helping prisoners. Even prisoners need love and acceptance and we all need God and His grace, love, and mercy. You will be in my prayers.
In Christ´s love,
Susan Smith
