Life Is A Dream
In this place, negativity is all I see
In this cell, pain is all I can smell
I ask myself, is this me, or am I adrift at sea?
How did I get here? Was it a mistake?
Or simply a cruel twist of fate?
Last night I had the most beautiful dream
It was so real, or so did it seem
I awoke from my slumber and a visitor appeared
It was you standing there, your eyes filled with tears
I pulled you close and whispered, Baby don’t cry
For I will love you to the day that I die
I held you and kissed the tears from your face
The tears dissolved and a smile took their place
We talked of tomorrow, our hopes and dreams
Of being together, of always being a team
We loved and danced through the night
Everything was perfect, everything was right.
Then suddenly I awaken, the guards flashlight in my face
And I’m snapped back to reality, I’m snapped back to this place
Baby please don’t think that we’re apart forever
For tonight when I dream, we will be together.
