Hi everyone. I am looking for a penpal for my niece. I'm skeptical of creating a profile for her because it can look bad for them in some instances. My niece is gorgeous, half French Canadian and half Dominican. She is 36 years old. The sweetest, most resilient, person I've ever known. I love her dearly and I'm sure anyone who meets her will share my sentiments. If interested please contact me via email and I will send you her info. My name is Amy my email address is amylang008 [at] gmail.comrel="nofollow"

I used another of my 3 free movie passes to see A.X.L, which is a really boring movie about some dirtbike enthusiast kid who finds and steals a military robot dog. He is not arrested or punished for this. The guy who built the dog is, for some reason.

I have been watching a lot of movies lately. I signed up for AMC A-List which is 3 movies a week for $20 a month. That's more movies than most people could go to. Still, the price makes me more open to watching movies I might otherwise have little interest in.
Today I went to see The Happytime Murders, which was not very good. They kind of wanted to do a film noir / adult comedy version of Sesame Street style puppets, but it just felt immature. Like it was a lot of sex and profanity and violence just for the sake of being edgy. Still, the movie was basically free and I had plenty of free time.

Deadpool 2. I liked it. There was one scene I that seemed to drag on just a little too long (even though it made sense that he would do something that). Other than that, I enjoyed everything else about the movie.

I watched Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. I watched an edited version on MTV 2 because my DVR picked up the recording for anything with Paula Garces, my latest celebrity crush. I should watch the unedited version just to see how much cursing there actually is. Some of the editing is pretty funny, like when a crazed hillbilly mechanic invites the heroes to "come in and kiss my wife". I'm pretty sure he didn't really use the word "kiss". Also towards the end a character holds up his index finger toward Harold, but I'm pretty sure he actually held up a different finger.

I don't have a television so I generally don't watch anything. So the last movie I remember watching was 'Suicide Squad'. My daughter loaned it and her laptop to me so I could watch it. I think I watched it three times in a row. It quickly became one of my favorites. But don't take my word on it being any good because it's been several years since I watched tv. I may have just been starved for entertainment. Lol

I really want to see The Big Sick and Lady Bird. I watched I Smile Back - it was good but sad, I want to read the book. I was planning on seeing Thor:Ragnarok a couple of months ago, but that never happened. I am kind of growing tired of the hype behind movies. I also want to see the tv series Alias Grace. But I love celebrity gossip - another weakness and secret shame of mine.

Watched The Martian after having listened to the audiobook. I quite enjoyed it but the book, as is common, was better. Like Tom, I am looking forward to seeing Grimsby but I'm a bit worried that it turns out that they put the only funny bits in the trailer ( I was caught out before) I will keep my fingers crossed.

TV is better than film now in my opinion.
I took my kids to see the new Star Wars movie last month, but that was the first film I had seen in a long long time.
I probably see most of my movies now on planes actually. A couple of weeks ago I was on a Vietnam Airlines flight and the movie shown on all screens to all passengers was Mad Max. Soooo funny. Can you think of a more unsuitable film?
Regarding the Oscars... personally I can't sit through more than 5 minutes of it. I'm not interested in celebrities and even less so in watching them fawn over each other and pat each other on the back.

I saw a list of 6 other documentaries you should watch beyond Making of a Murderer...this had an ending I was not expecting.
The Hateful Eight, loved it...but I'm a massive lover of Walton Goggins so...anything he does is tops with me. I do think the movie was really good though and moved really well for something almost 3 hours long.
I also finally watched Selma...not sure why I didnt watch it last year when it came out but better late than never. Recommend.

Girl On Fire
Perfect Romance. A cheesy rom-com about a mother who tries to set her daughter up with a 'decent' guy for a change by placing a lonely hearts style ad, in her daughter's name. When a really charming man replies, she sets about corresponding with this guy via letters, hoping to build a relationship between them. The letters work and the guy agrees to come and stay with the family for a while to meet the daughter - thinking that it's her he's been writing to all along. When he arrives the mother tells the daughter what she's done and has to give her a crash course in romantic poetry and the persona that the man is expecting. In reality she's the absolute opposite of everything the mother made her out to be, so the daughter struggles to try and fit in with the idea that he's fallen in love with.
It was a lot better than I expected and it showed the power of words and the ways in which people fall in love via letters - which seemed kinda on topic for some discussions that have gone on in here. If you like easy-going romantic comedys and movies which have a kind of Shakespearean comedy of errors feel to them, then give it a go. It was just on television. daytime tv afternoon movie stuff. suitable for all the family and also if you want a nice feel good movie to make you smile. :-)
