I have been telling my PP about a book I have been reading which is a true story about a guys life in the area I am from, i have told him if he is interested i would love to send him a copy. I have found it on amazon but the seller is a bookstore in the UK (where I am from) rather than direct from amazon.
Does this then mean I am unable to send it as it is not direct from amazon?

Thank you! I will double check with him and find out :)

It depends on the jurisdiction and the facility.

Some, federal prisons for example, accept incoming books from any legitimate bookstore (e.g. amazon third parties too) and even used books. Your best source of information on this would probably be your bud, e.g. the specific rules wherever he is, and if there’s a restriction on hardcover books (usually a function of the security level of the facility), new vs. used, or if receipts must be provided (as in Colorado, for example). I’ve had a book shipped from the UK to my bud here in the States with zero problem, though he’s in the feds. Good luck!
