my wife is going to jail for the next six months for a money crime. I might a lot of flack for supporting a criminal but since she has no history of this her crime wasn't against me or our child so I am willing to stick by her. I was wondering what are some good books or magazines out that are good to send to an inmate.

, I honestly don't read much and I was thinking maybe there were some good specific books you can send to someone in jail. She's 37 if that helps . Don't even know what books are targeted toward that age group

The types not allowed are things inciting racial hatred, rioting, making drugs, violence or escaping from jail but that's nothing to worry about she would never read that kind of stuff anyway

main thing I wonder if there are some good specific books or magazines for someone in jail. And also maybe what kind of books or magazines would not be a good idea

I don't think there is anything wrong with supporting your wife...she's your wife after all. Plenty of people on here are supporting their husbands through prison so... kudos to you for standing by her.

I've sent magazines through this website Inmate Magazines - Send Single Copys for Fast Delivery to Prison they have a good selection. I'm not sure what your wife is into but I like a little US Weekly celeb trash or national geographic or Marie Claire. You can also send crossword/wordsearch/Sudoku type books through that site which would give her something to do in downtime (if she likes that kind of thing).

I read The Four Agreements (book) and it was really thought provoking...it's a self help type book...my boyfriend, who is in prison, was reading it and recommended it. You can order and send into prisons easily through Amazon.com. He also really enjoyed reading The Prophet.

Outside of those two I can't think of anything particularly geared toward inmates (and those aren't ... they're just thought provoking and about change and how to live life).
