Hello and good day. I have a pen pal in Colorado State Penitentiary and I was wondering if there is a limit to the amount of photos you can send per letter. I have tried my best to find the info on my own, but haven't really found out exactly what I need to know. I'm willing to contact the facility to find out myself, but there are so many names on the contact list I'm unsure of who I should direct my question to. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time.

It doesn't look like their mail guidelines actually tell you (as I assume you've noticed!).... Maybe you could ask your pp? I write to a pp in Michigan, and I asked him before I sent photos so he could tell me if there were limits or anything that I needed to be aware of, and he seemed to know! In the meantime, best play it safe and only send one or two, I guess. I think that all of the states I write to pp's in have a limit of 10, but it does vary between states so who knows what the limit is for Colorado!
Yeah I read through all of the guidelines and it doesn't say anything. I will ask my pp, I was just hoping someone might have personal experience with the facility so I could find out quicker. It will take two weeks for me to find out from my pp.
How many were you looking to send?
I can tell you that I went to drop off pictures for my husband during a visit. (Not CSP). One C.O. tells me the max # of pictures allowed is 35 which as it turns out was exactly how many I had. The C.O. in the package room where you drop off the stuff you are leaving for your inmate told me they don't allow pictures through the package room and I would have to mail them. These guys are about 15 feet from each other. You think one or both would know what the rules are? I think when something is not explicitly written in the handbook or directives or whatever they just make it up as they go along so you might just want to write your pal and ask. I happen to have a pal at CSP but have never sent more than maybe 5 photos at a time so I couldn't tell you the limit.
I'm only looking to send four pictures so that is great news. Especially since I already sent them out. I thought I would wing it, but now that I know 4 isn't OVER the limit I feel much better. Thanks a lot for your help :)
Well that solves that then. Maybe there is someplace where you can't send 5 photos, but 5 and under I'd always take my chances too.
So I asked my pp and he says there is no limit! Hooray for that :)

My boyfriend is in Colorado SP.
I'm pretty sure it's a maximum of 5 photos per JPay! I only know that because when I've tried to send more than 5 it has said I can't attach more as I have already met the maximum allowed! Hope this helps!
