Domestic Violence
To whom I may be reaching out to, my name is Bennie flowers. I was born in Beaumont, Texas. In January of 1998 I committed a violent act, one that's most common in relationships that go sour... domestic violence. During my time I've had time to think about my behavior. I've taken a few guidance courses. One really got my attention called "Bridges to Life". I found my forgiveness, redemption and responsibility. In that particular class I was able to sit in with others that have committed violent acts and express ourselves. I am now able to accept full responsibility for what I did.   In my situation we started off with a great relationship. We would go clubbing, I was working and providing for whatever. Later on I found out about her secret. She was having a secret relationship with her kid's father. We continued in our relationship but that's when the fighting started... I would always let her pick up my pay checks and then later I found out that's what our relationship was based on. So I stopped letting her do that for awhile. So when she showed up at the job I refused and she tried to run me over. I snapped! It was all about the money. Later on that day she showed up to my house demanding that I give her money. So we started fighting again and I lost all thought, retrieving a weapon and used it. Now I sit here serving a 60 year sentence for MURDER.   Domestic violence comes in a lot of forms... jealousy, love, and anger. "Money is the root of all evil," some say I did it out of love, some say other things. I just know that the truth is it was my fault. Regardless of what went on, I let it happen. I should have just said no and moved on with my life. Of course I loved her and I couldn't apologize enough to both of our families for the pain and suffering I caused. I'm in God's hands now.   If there's anyone out there, male or female, that's going through a rough relationship; please seek help before it is to late. The outcome of a violent relationship is death. I know from experience so please, take caution on any red flags in your relationships. If you would like to correspond, please write me:   Bennie Flowers #865850 Stiles Unit 3060 FM 3514 Beaumont, TX, 77705   I took a life and now want to help as much as I can to save one. So please, lets talk before you react. PLEASE, LET'S TALK.   Sincerely, Bennie Flowers

Hi Bennie

My name is Larry. I just read about your unfortunate situation. It seem like you have given things a lot of thought and hopefully you can help someone else to avoid that situation. There is an encouraging text in scripture that points to some of the things you have learned. Col 3:8-10 "But now you must put them all away from you: wrath, anger, badness, abusive speech, and obscene talk out of your mouth.  Do not lie to one another. Strip off the old personality with its practices,  and clothe yourselves with the new personality, which through accurate knowledge is being made new according to the image of the One who created it" I help people to learn the truth of what the bible teaches. You cannot change the evil that was brought on your family, and your girl certainly never deserved death. However the bible offers a hope for the dead to live again John 5:25,29 and you can look forward to the fulfillment of Isaiah 65:17 "For look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be called to mind, Nor will they come up into the heart".  One day this dark part of your history will fade from memory.
