Hello lovely people. I am very new to this whole thing and trying to figure it all out. I wrote to a DR inmate for the first time last month. He replied and we seem to hit it off from the bat. Well his profile on this site disappeared and I’m a little worried that he was transferred and has a new address or maybe something else? I don’t remember that his profile said that it was expiring soon. Has this happened to anyone? Thank you for any replies.

Maybe his profile expired cos I know some of them are only up for a limited time so maybe that's why xx

His profile on WAP shouldn't have much to do with his whereabouts, address, or prison status.  The ad might have expired, or he might have taken it down himself, but it wouldn't have been taken down for any other reason (such as a transfer, a court date, or administrative segregation.)  He should still be able to get your mail and send you mail just as before, regardless of whether his ad is currently up or not.

The best way to find out why his ad was taken down is simply to ask him, next time you write.  Do you have any reason to think he can't write to you anymore, or you can't write to him?  I'd give it a try and see.

Check his status at his facility using the states dept. Of corrections website. If he has an appeal coming up he won't be able to recieve mail and your mail will be returned. I had that experience last year. Or Google his name and facility. Could be he removed his profile himself.
