Hello !
when inmates respond, is it by e-mail or by letter?
Thanks !

Kirsten

Probably they didn't change it on existing AZ ads? Ask WAP, not us. ;-)

Why is Jaypay still referenced for emailing? It is now Securus for emails. At least that's how it is in AZ.

Hey Stef, it all depends on how you contact them initially, what information you’ve provided, and where they are – different jurisdictions use different technology vendors. Heads up that “email” is never “email” in the traditional sense, in that inmates do not have legal access to the internet. To your question though:

If you wrote a letter and included your return address (mandatory on the envelope, and a good idea to include on p.1 in many cases) expect a letter in return.

If you used the WAP “email” feature and you’ve provided your correct mailing address on your WAP account here, expect a letter in return.

If you used JPay (a secure messaging platform), expect a JPay message in return – unless the inmate is in Texas, Colorado, or parts of California, where JPay only works in one direction, you > them. In those cases, you must include your mailing address to get a reply.

There are several other variables and technology vendors, but those are the basics.
