This Happy Breed. A good old David Lean classic (the dude who made Brief Encounter - another favourite) that follows the life of a working class English family from the end of the first world war, through to the second world war.

8 Seconds. Excellent movie.
This film chronicles the life of Lane Frost, 1987 PRCA Bull Riding World Champion, his marriage and his friendships with Tuff Hedeman (three-time World Champion) and Cody Lambert.

"Joyful Noise" Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah. Excellent acting. Preposterous and derivative storyline. Woeful dialogue - except the catty exchanges between Dolly and Queen. Too much singing. I enjoyed it anyway. Sister Act II meets Glee.

Thanks, Beautiful. The "One Liter of Tears" I will watch it when I feel strong enough to. I just looked at it a bit. It's in Japanese! OK, so no need for subtitles. Now, I know I'll probably cry more than a liter.
Douitashi mashete! [<--Gomenasai if I said that wrong, I had to spell it wrong so it wouldn't censor out part of it due to how you know its properly spelled hehe...my sister lives in Tokyo, too and teaches me what she can from time to time and I watch A LOT of anime which helps me to learn what Japanese that I do know. So I prefer watching subbed foreign films and anime than dubbed. Demo mada watashi no nihongo wa heta desu. ;-)] As for the film itself, it is very difficult to watch without crying but it is well worth it. It's very inspiring and heartwarming. Let me know what you thought of it when you get to complete it. :)

Had to watch it at work: "H2O" Francois Sagat is magnificent to behold, but even with subtitles there didn't seem to be any plot in evidence.
That...
was just wrong. Thankfully, Google is my friend. Soooo glad I didn't just walk into the Video Store and ask if they carried it.

I've only been able to watch this movie twice & today I'm being brave enough to watch it again...it's called One Litre of Tears and it's based on the true story of Aya No Namida a young high school girl struck with a deadly disease that causes her to lose control of her entire body, to find strength she begins to write a diary that is later published into a book that inspires other with this and other deadly diseases to keep on striving on. This film is NOT called 1Litre of Tears for nothing, no one I have ever recommended this to can watch it without crying for over half of the film. Beautiful, inspiring film and even more beautiful soundtrack. When my brain tries to allow me to forget to be grateful for every little thing I have including the movement of all my limbs on my body, I watch this film. It is English subbed which I prefer foreign films in their original language but if you do not its still worth the watch. Here is a link to the page with both halves (I HIGHLY recommend it!): AyaNoNamida - YouTube
Another amazing foreign film is Turtles Can Fly...watching that after this. I LOVE foreign films! (Japanese/Middle Eastern especially) :)

I watched this movie by accident the other day. It wasn't one of those that was widely advertised, and it seems as though very few know of it.
I admit, it is a dark film with some graphic content. A good thriller with decent acting and a great plot twist for those that enjoy the genre. I am the type that can usually guess the ending within the first half hour of a movie.
This one I did not see it coming and I have been telling damn near everyone that it is worth the time to watch.
