Hi Mo,
I agree that the "Who Do You Write" thread was handy. But, since we can't have it, perhaps we can devise something that is tamper proof.
I don't quite follow what your idea is, so perhaps you could give more detail.
My next question would be . .If it requires someone doing something . .who is going to do it? Any volunteers?

Just one thread where people can ask if anyone knows so and so - if they do then the rest can be done via email and no hassles could arise. Recently there have been a lot of people asking if others know prisoners. I just figured if there was one thread like the 'who do you know' then it would be easier. It could be called anything like 'Anybody know' 'Information please' anything like that [smile]

And all the replies would be done via email which would cut out the chances of trouble!

That sounds like a good idea.
My only thought would be that newbies might not know what the thread was for. But, I suppose that old timers could direct them to it. Then, the old timers would also have to keep it "bumped up" and review it periodically to see if they could offer assistance.

So, if I were looking for info on a particular prisoner, I would post their name and give my e-mail address so that I could receive messages in regards to that prisoner?

unfortunately, those that cause the drama do not commuinicate privately via email. I don't see how you could make it 'tamper proof'...the who do you write list had it's advantages but i think anything similar will end up causing problems eventually. Just my thought...

Good point. Where there is a will, there is a way.
OK, here is an idea, but it would take a very ambitious and dedicated person.
Have one person maintain a list of prisoners along with the names of those who write them. Any inquiries would be directed to the "keeper" of the list.
I know it doesn't sound practical, but . . .?

lol X-ray r-i-i-g-h-t!! ...well Novel did a great list with the alphabetizing..that in itself was a job---yeh, sounds like a little too much for anyone to deal with *grins*

I agree BUT if I had emailed one person and one person only about a particular prisoner then trouble started up at least I would have a point to start from as to HOW that trouble had started because I would only have mailed that one person. Nothing is tamper proof but it just seems silly for lots of threads to go up asking about various prisoners when all of that could be done on just one thread. The only other way around avoiding future hassles would be to stop people from asking about prisoners.
Just my opinion and it was just an idea - I do see the good and the bad involved so maybe we best just forget all about it BEFORE anything can start up again.

Yes, there may be some obstacles to overcome, but lets not give up yet. There may be a genius, out there somewhere, with just the right solution. We may get some good imput yet.
