Hey guys. I have downloaded a book that one of my pals has been really wanting to read. My question is, how do I send it? Will they allow it to pass as normal mail? It is 158 pages in its entirety, and I was planning on sending it in two parts. Will this be accepted if it is mailed on normal white paper? Thanks!

anita, I doubt your pal will be allowed to get that package. I know California and Florida have limits on the amount of printed material that can be sent in each letter. I would call the prison and ask before I put out the money to send that package....

As the other posters have said it does depend on the prison that you are mailing to. Can I ask what prison you are mailing to?

anita, it definitely depends on the prison mailroom, not just the state...not even just the prison! I sent a novella I wrote to a guy on DR in Raiford that was 80 pp and they let him have it. Sent him another one that was 69 pp and it was sent back! Depends on who opens the mail and how much a stickler for the rules they are IMO.
