I recently discovered a man who has achieved a memorable level of fame through the Internet (and who I was a fan of) was sentenced to life in prison for capital murder. I know his name and location through the website of his state's DOC, but he doesn't have a profile on WAP or any other website, which may mean that he's not looking for pen pals. He was only sentenced last month. I would still be interested in writing to him, but I wonder if it's a bad idea not just because of the extent of his crimes, but because I don't know anything personal about him.
Last post
good luck!
You will write if you want to. He will reply if he chooses. Having done it that way myself, I wouldn't say you should hold high hopes for a reply from someone recently sentenced, until they post themselves on a penpal site.
you can write if you want.
but give it some time before you do since a month isn't long enough for him to get settled.
Totally agree with Moxie . The guy will need some time to settle in before he even starts to think about having pen pal contact...so if you do decide to write, it may be some time before you hear back from him, if ever.
One of my pals didn't have any adverts up or anything, I just read a news report about her and decided to write. Some times it works and some times it doesn't.
Honestly it's no big deal if you want to reach out and write. Simply put, some people like a knock at the door and will answer, while others don't even bother to get up to see who's knocking. :)
Well written smiley :)
I agree with what they said ^^ :D
I'm curious why you are a fan?
Fan? Fan of whom?
read the first line of the first post and you will see.
I'm still in the dark. Are we discussing and actual person, or the concept?
To me it sounded like the OP was a fan of the person after following them on the internet. I was just curious why they would call themselves a fan? I found it an interesting thing to say. Maybe I'm getting the meaning of how the word is used wrong.
I'm still totally in the dark. Apart from Writeaprisoner, I have no idea how the internet works for social interaction.
I'm taking it to mean being a fan as in "I follow your story" the way you would if you are a fan of a certain celeb. The person already IS a celeb and the OP knew about them because they are famous, that's what the post seemed to say to me. Famous on the internet... people achieve fame through youtube videos in all sorts of ways. The person wasn't very specific about that.
Unless the original poster elaborates the story, we are all pissing in the wind here. Maybe we should just let it lie.
I interpreted it to mean it was someone whom the OP admired (prior to the incident) who has since committed murder and landed a life sentence.
That's a pretty big leap in the dark!
I took it to mean this person was/is famous on the Internet, and the OP was a fan.
Or is that perhaps a bit too simplistic?
i know of a member on another site that posted something similar.maybe i'm wrong and i'm NOT implying you were on the other site, but are you referring to that man that shot that senator?(only know it's some goverment official) and killed that little 9 yr.old child in arizona? i want to think jarrod is his first name.unfortunately his crime is more memorable than him or his name.
He hasn't gone to trial yet, Melanie.
But I'm thinking you're on the right track with someone notorious who had a cult following online. Maybe had a blog or something which people followed. Or a Youtube channel.
The man I was referring to was quite popular an X-rated website; in those videos, I, like a lot of other visitors found him very attractive and entertaining to watch. Since I don't know anything personal about him, I wouldn't expect anything more than just letters from him.
Thank you for your advice everyone. I'll give him time to get settled; since his sentencing, he has already changed facilities once. His birthday will be coming up later this year so I'll send him a card then.
come onnnnn tell us,pretty please?? besides i'll never guess from sites like that. i sure as hell don't want my computer catching the cyber world version of the clap.lol
Aren't all x-rated websites popular? LOL :snicker:
If you do a google search you find out some details, its easy enough.
you are sooooo right there's about 7 of them just from a quick google search!! max hardcore, christopher reid, mark dalton,2 women actresses. i googled "porn star in prison"
And if they are any thing like the ones on my face book they will get lots of mail.
I hope its not Max Hardcore. It could be that Francais guy of girls gone wild? I think we should stop prying LOL (although I wouldn't mind knowing either)
