I went to the ads last night and found almost all the women looking more for love (or what?) than a PP. While I am single, I was not really looking for a on-line dating service. After hours of looking I only found a few women to ask only for friendship and a PP that she could write to.
Here is a part of one of there ads.

I agree entirely Dave.
I'm just saying that site I saw with all the nudity had one huge flaw....the pictures rarely matched the written description the women put in their ad....and all but one were from states without photos on their Locator sites...except one....so you couldn't match pictures with mug shots.
My sesne is that the ads come from women who do not have pictures so the site just slaps up a nude from a commercial site...they are all very "arty" looking photos.

I know what you are saying, but I think that you need to read beyond the cover to see the person behind the picture. I think that most of these ladies may be poorly educated and they are trying to sell themselves, and make themselves attractive to someone. Offers of love may be the only way that they know how.
Maybe I am all wet, and we all know that there may be a scam artist lurking behind every ad. But, there may also be a nice person trying to find someone who is nice, in return, and who will brighten their day, if not their life. So, you have to take it all with a grain of salt.
Just my opinion. :-)
It is my experience going through the ads...not only here...but other sites as well ....that there is someone for everyone if you just take the time to look. It may take a while...but you can find someone.
I even came across a site where about a third of the women's photos are nude, to one degree or another, photos. However, they also have little resemblance to how they describe themselves in the ad...so it is anyone's guess. But it must work or women wouldn't keep posting those kinds of ads.
With 2.2 million people locked up in the US...there has to be someone for everyone to write to!

I do agree,and for me,after a while looking at them,I chose men into friendship because of that.

I looked for ads that said they wanted friendship, but some of my pals have mentioned that they are lonely and the ones that I have visited really get touchy with words at times. You have to remember that alot of them are dumped by girlfriends/boyfriends and they go through that real vulnerable moment for awhile.
They are lonely, and they are looking for comfort- some of them are like some of the WAP members- looking for just friends and it ends up that they want more.
You just have to tell them outright that you are in it for friendship if that is your only intention in writing.
Jess, I find that most of the men are looking for romance too. You have to at least appreciate their honesty.
Prison is a very lonely place and so many long for romance for a number of reasons.
Take your time in your selection process and no matter if they're looking for romance or friendship, I would suggest you be quite clear on what you want--friendship only.
Of course, as many on this forum can affirm, there are times when both parties are only interested in friendship and it grows into more. :-)
Okay Plastercat - I can take the hint. No wonder when you make my riding gear, I am covered from head to toe, and all I wanted was a little ventiliation. Not asking for tooooooooo much. LOL

Yes, a lot of the ladies ads are really "out there!".
And in many cases they are openly seeking for donations as well.
I would like a female penpal myself, but its difficult to find one who is purely seeking friendship.
I guess its a matter of just going thru the ads until you can narrow it down to those who have the same objective as you do.
