Hello. Is Jpay working great for everybody but me? Everything was going great until January 2019. Around that time it started taking longer for emails to be forwarded, and it went from slow to slower, if they reach their destination at all. I wrote an email to jpay asking about the whereabouts of my mail an of course no answer and also no refund for the lost stamps.

Hey there, I just recently started using jpay but I have noticed mail takes varying times to arrive, I also sent a video gram on Sunday I did it prepaid aswell but never received any back and not sure if mine was even sent. Awaiting a response from pp to see if it got there.
I’ve wrote many times about the frustration I’ve had with Jpay... my pp wrote me 4 emails and they all came at once 8 days later. Emailing customer support is useless. Hate to say it but it’s basically a waiting game at this point. You won’t be able to receive emails on the weekends so that puts you back two days!

It's so frustrating not to know when the mail arrives, if it even gets there...I'm ready to rip my hair out. I just keep waiting for a letter and... nothing. Has anyone ever tried calling their customer service number for help? Is it even worth it? At this point I'd rather throw my stamp money down the toilet than give it to them.
Yeah you would think it would be easy enough to put in a delivered flag so you know when it's gone to the prison.

Patience is a virtue you got to learn when you're dealing with writing to inmates. Never compare its pace with normal emails. I'd even recommend snail mail, it's very grounding & puts things into another perspective.
jpay doesn't notify you, when a msg has been approved, GTL (connectnetwork) does.
Kirsten, do you mean that the ‘sent’ notification on JPay doesn’t actually mean that the inmate hasn’t received the email? Just that it’s been sent or ?
When I first started using it last April, it was amazing. We could get 3-4 messages per day. Now it’s once a day and some messages take several days. Just yesterday I got one that was sent on the 4th and I’m still waiting on one that was sent on the 1st.
As Kirsten said, you just need to be patient, as difficult as it is at times.
Cleo - what’s in the sent folder is just a log of what you have sent. You don’t get a notification as such.
You don't get notified if your mail was denied either. Or delayed at the moment because of the massive snow storms across the United States. ALL mail delivery is being delayed across the United States at the moment becaue of the snow.
Hey looking at starting jpay but don't u understand the concept of the stamps. If I it stamps does the inmate have access to use them too? And any additional fees for only buying stamps?
Just nervous with credit card on there
No, the inmate does not have access to your stamps. The stamps you buy are yours alone. The inmate is responsible for their own stamps.
You do have the option to transfer stamps to an online inmate, or attach a return stamp for them to use. Those options are your own choice to make.
As for fees, not real sure right now. I do know that each stamp costs less than a real stamp. But I think the price varies by state
Each state has their own fee structure and minimum/maximum amount of stamps you can buy at one time. This is self explanitory if you sign up for jpay. Each state has their own list of features that an inmate can access. Some states such as California allow inmates with good behavior to own a heavily locked down Android based jpay tablet. They can read your messages on them and upload replies when they connect them to jpay terminals.
My letters did arrive. They were just a little bit delayed. What I hadn't considered is that my PP could not access them right away because he was in the hole. It's good now. He wrote me teo mails in a row and a letter. Now is there anyone here I could talk to in private? I do have some questions, but I don't want to post them here where everybody can read it.

(just leave the spaces out - I wrote it that way because I don't like to receive spam).
@malicia: Got your email, thank you. Still pondering one of the questions you asked, as I think, it's not an easy one. Will get back to you tomorrow, just so you'd know I read it.
Thank you Kirsten. I think I know which question you are referring to. I'm very happy to get your opinion/advice though. Thank you very much.
Such a problem was in one economic company, we just used a different encoding
I work in the field of education and safe ways to pay and send letters is the main point in our work. We work with text and text editors that must have the same coding style or method. Text translation must be creative https://gradesfixer.com/free-essay-examples/philosophy/. Machine translation may make a mistake. We do not work with accessible translators because it is a bad experience for our copywriters. We use a commercial product.
Jpay aren't responsible for how long the mail takes to be delivered. The prison mail room are. It goes through them before it makes it to the inmate. Any flag words hold up the process.
Where my man is, they're not meant to hold it any longer than 5 days. They then have to either reject it or send it. Sometimes ours take just 3 minutes to get through although it's usually a bit longer, sometimes hours. It's rarely days anymore.
They don't tend to notify you if something has been rejected but they do usually inform the inmate.
So unfortunately IF Jpay were to ever get back to you, they'd likely tell you to speak to the mail room.
Just realised this thread is originally a year old. However my previous post might still be useful knowledge to someone here!
