In the past week I have put some money on a Jpay commissary to help a long term friend out of a bind in CA. Now all of a sudden I cannot send that person anymore money, nor put money on their media fund account...but I can buy stamps and set up payments to others on the same account. Jpay says transfers to this inmate are blocked and I should contact them - which I have done, and surprise surprise no response.

I am in Australia, I was using a Mastercard debit card issued in Australia, which I know has money on it and I have been buying stuff elsewhere with all week with no hassles.

Is this the usual jpay shenanigans or am I missing something here??

Thanks ST4s, yeah "reliable" and jpay in the same sentence is not a common occurence. As you say its often time senstive and this is when they do not shine.

Hey Sunspot, if it makes you feel any better, I’ve given up on JPay for this – and I live in the U.S. They’ve flaked-out on me once too often, on time-sensitive things that have really put my buds in a bind. My own conclusion is they’re just not reliable. I’d try another vendor or service (though for California, I’m not quite sure who that would be). Good luck!
