I just recently started using JPay as well and used the debit card provided by my bank to purchase stamps to send my emails. I'm thinking any valid card will work.

I use my matercard to pay the stamps. My normal German bank debit card did not work.

You can buy stamps with a International Credit/Debit card. I use my cards issued in Brazil without problems (Visa/Mastercard).

Any (prepaid) debit/creditcard will work just fine for stamps.

Once you want to send money or credits to someone you will need a card that is registered to your name and a verified adress.

It can be difficult to get this working properly with a prepaid credit/debitcard. If you have a usual visa or mastercard it works just fine.
