OMFG!!!!! I just got out of work and while I was waiting at the station for my train to come, my phone rang... There was only one person that could be calling at this late hour (it's f*cking 2.30 am) so I started shaking but decided to pick up the phone. And yes it was J! It was just sooooo friggin awesome! He didn't expect me to pick up the phone, so he was shocked and his hands were sweating haha. And we only had 3 minutes to talk because he didn't put enough money in his phone account. He thought he would get my voicemail... Dude! Just put the effin money in your phone account hahahahaha. Sooooo happy!

We used up all the 300 minutes just after a week! ,) And now I have to wait until the first of April to get calls again. So, no more than 1 call for 10 min each day so I can hear his voice once a day! LOL. :nod:

hahaha I´m lucky enough to have a fulltime job in a factory where the shifts last 10.5 hours (dayshift from 05.30 am until 16.00pm and late shift from 16.00pm until 02.30am), and an additional 4 hours of traveling time each day. so chances are that I'll be working 9 out 0f ten times when he calls :D

That first call is amazing; but you know what, they are all amazing and they worry and obsess about them as much as we do. When my guys call me I'm on cloud nine; it's almost embarrassing, I have this huge grin. I think they do as well. One of my friends overheard my conversation (which was OK; it wasn't all that private) and he said, you just laughed for like 15 minutes. Isn't that wonderful?
Sounds like phone calls are the way to go. :) How long did everyone know their pp before they started taking calls? The 3 pp's I have all are pretty nice (so far) so I'm not sure I can afford phone calls from all 3.
I write to 5 people but only talk to one of them on the phone. I never would have started the phone if he hadn't slowly broken me down over time, asking (in a nice way) if we could try that. I'm sure glad he did...I never would have brought it up, myself. I never intended phone conversations when I rejoined WAP, but, it worked out that way. I love the phone conversations but me being me, I wouldn't want them with everyone I write to. Not much of a phone person. Took me a long time to get over it and be real with my pp on the phone but now it's brilliant.
I write to 14 guys; get calls from seven, soon to be eight. Would be nine but one is back in seg. It took a while for them to start calling, a few months. They are one of the best things to ever happen to me.
Holy cow! You write to 14 guys? and talk to 8? There is no way I would be able to keep them all straight never mind being able to afford writing to all of them. How often do you write and talk on the phone?
that was my thought to. i could not find the time to devote to that many.
Me neither... which is why I didn't start it with some of the others. I don't know about other prisons or schedules but my pp has a very specific and narrow window of hours he can call, which is different every single day, if available at all. It's a lot to keep track of at times and I cannot imagine doing that for more than one prison schedule, omg! I'd have to write it down!!! I don't think I could do it so I thought it best not to start and then become disappointing.
Well, first off, they don't all write me all the time. I get like at least a letter from most of them a week, but some it's like once or twice a month. Also, several only call rarely, but they do call. A couple of them call me several times a week; one maybe 3 times (15 minutes per); another did call daily but he lost phone privileges (not due to me). Really, it's not all that difficult and I'm extremely organized. Also, it's a labor of love, so emotionally, this occupies most of my space. I'm helping some out with legal issues (I'm a paralegal). Get them books.
I have been writing with J since february 11th last year and he soon asked me for my phonenumber (after 2 months or so), but I wasn't comfortable giving it back then. About a month ago I finally gave him my number and now he calls me sometimes. He pays for it that's why I have to wait a couple of weeks now because he didn't put enough money in his phone account.
