I've noticed a lot of people who write to more than one PP, use the term 'special PP' when talking.
I've recently gotton close to one of my PP's and we have developed a really good friendship - but that's all it is, just friendship. Is it right to still be calling him that, or should the phrase just be used for someone you are in a relationship with?
I don't want to mislead people on here when I write it, by making out we are romantically linked. The way I see it is that we are a lot closer that my other 3 PP's - and he is more special to me - thats why I use the phrase.

You are the one that gives anything it's "meaning"......
I personally have used the phrase "special," because for me, my freind stands out above all others.
I think I have used the term "special" or "main" in posts simply to distinguish between the pal I seem to have the most in common with and writes me the most. Im friends with all of them, but if I had to choose one to try a romantic endeavor with on the outside, that is what I mean by main guy. Maybe some others are this way?
smiley's right - YOU are the one who gives the meaning to it. to me, my 'special' pals are those who I write to a lot, who write to me, and who I have developed a great relationship with - friendship, to make it clear - none of my pals have anything more than a 'friendship' with me.
The "special" designation is what each of us wants it to be and how each of us defines it in our own lives.
My Pal is 'special' just like my kids are 'special'. It took some time to get there...but we're there now and we love each other so deeply that it will last forever...just like the love of my kids!
Don't even get me started on the love I have for my wonderful wife!
Just my thoughts

Thanks everyone - I do refer to him as special because out of the 4 I write to, he is the one I have got closest to and feel that I have the most in common with. It's a srange feeling at first - because we only write, no visits or phone calls - but I still believe we have a very special friendship.
