Just to warn you ... DON'T READ THE COMMENTS TO THIS ARTICLE! I made the mistake, and gosh, I'm so angry. I go to call my best friend now. I have to vent! That's ridiculous! Are most Americans thinking this way? If so, then I'm happy to be on the other side of the ocean! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ... :amadhell:

Dippy Wapsters! It does have a ring to it. Anybody, on here, embroider hats? I would wear it. :-)
But, what the hey? Everybody is entitled to their opinions. As for the link, I couldn't pull it up either. But, from what Peanut posted, I'm not surprised by the article. The biggest problem is that they left out one important aspect. Instead of focusing on desperate females, with empty lives, they might have mentioned that some people get a rush . . a heart warming gratification, from knowing that they have brightened someone's day.
Those who look down on us Dippy Wapsters just don't know what they are missing.

i read the comments its terrible how people think on there, one day i was surfing the net and came on a sort off urban sight that was horrible, but i still think not all americans think this way.
Every country got his own culture, i mean Holland is very liberal to the rest off the world, and we dont understand the prisonsystem in the USA, the DP and the solitery confinement, the violance in prisons.
And we also get a different vieuw off the ordenery people, by tv and media

Or course not all Americans think that way, the proof is right there : WAP - in France, you would find both parties (the ones who think "lock'em up and throw the key !" and the other ones who should everyone is entitled to a second chance and once you've paid your debt to the society, you should be reintegrated)
Thanks Lachsis for the mascott ! LOL

After awhile one must take these News articals with
a grain of salt.
They are just trying to get their readers upset and
on their side.

It is really interesting to me that so many people are against writing prisoners. I do understand the families of the victims of a crime having a concern about it but the fact is almost every one of the people in prison will eventually get out one day. If writing to a prisoner can give support and encouragment and help recidivism then why wouldn't everyone write a prisoner? Yes there are men and women that write a pp because of an emptiness or lonliness, or some disfigured sense of "rescue", but who cares?

As someone else pointed out, the paper is simply trying to wind readers up. I have a journalist friend (and I myself have recently been offered a magazine columnist post) and my mate and her journalist friends regularly post stories with the intention of winding people up :00009136:

You'll work for it though, no cushy numbers like your used too!
F*ck the begrudgers that's all I have to say. If they can't be arsed opening their minds and are happy in their "safe worlds", that's their choice.
