Hi all!

I was wondering if you could help. My prison friend has started ringing me from the prison phone in Ohio, he rings my skype number as I live in the UK. It allowed me to set it up when he first rang but now when he rings and it says "dial 0 to accept this call" I do and it does nothing. It then asks again and I press 0 again, yet it does nothing and says "your call has been denied" I don't really know what to do. Do I need skype credit? Does the keypad for skype not work? Please help as I loved speaking to him on the phone and if it doesn't work now I'll feel at the end of my tether. Thanks!

Hi apologies for jumping on your thread, I am also in the UK, did you select UK when setting up your Skype number or the US I cant find the answer to this anywere.

I hope you have managed to sort out your calling problem. x

My call is forwarded to me so I just answer the phone and use the normal phone keypad.
so it's definitely not Skype that's the issue.

Hi Maisy,

I'm not sure why it would stop working if it's worked in the past. The main one would be that you've run out of credit. It depends how you're answering the calls too, like do you the Skype app on your cellphone and answer it through Skype? Or do you have call forwarding set up so it rings through to your cellphone like a normal phone call? If you answer it like a phone call then the keypad should work as normal, but you need credit for Skype to forward it to your cellphone number.
You may also need to check the settings for the wifi/data settings as one day my wifi had stopped working and I hadn't changed the settings to allow Skype on mobile data and it rang and clicked off after just a few seconds.
I don't answer the calls straight from Skype, so if that's what you're doing, I can't really help since I'm not familiar with it that way. But I try to always have around $7-8 on my Skype account just so I don't get caught short one day.

Hope that helps

Unfortunately I have this same problem every now and then!
I usually just restart my phone and it tends to help, but not always.

Really don't know why it does it though. I'm in the U.K too and have a US number (not through Skype though)
