So far I've received my Valentine's gift from R. It was tres cute. He had his sister send the package to me and of course, he said nothing! total surprise.. lol .. I also think he's up to something else, my gut is telling me so.. I haven't figured out what yet.. but I guess I will soon enough :O

I'm also in a total Valentine's Grinch mode, especially for the last few days. It's like.. I've been foul to everyone around me that gets to BE with the one they love and what not. I blew up against my godmother when she kept going on and on about her boyfriend and their plans. just ticked me off. lol I totally snapped. I haven't exactly been fun to be around. LOL
I'm a tea girl myself. A wonderful surprise for sure...that's love baby!
The funny thing is.. I've noticed that in the last few months... our relationship seems to have changed.. we were an amazing click from the start, but at some point I started noticing little things... ya know? like we instantly got closer or something. and I'm not in love with him or anything, and I don't think he's in love with me either, at least... not to my knowledge.. lol but I do love him to death, no doubt about it. And in one of the cards he sent along with the mug, he actually told me how he felt, it was soooooooooooo sweet. I mean, the mug was kinda obvious :P then again.. they don't really make " you're the bestest penpal an inmate could ever have! " mugs now do they? lol. (unless u get em custom made. LOL).
but yeah, I loved the mug, I'm drinking my hot cocoa out of it now :P

It's really sweet tho. I always think it's kind of a big deal when they arrange something to be sent and all. It's really sweet that you can be a person for him to send something to... you inspire cups being sent round the world, ha ha!!
I knowww ! I told him how I saw it as a big deal and it was sooo sweet. but the SWEETEST thing wa.s.. I once told him I also collect mugs. any kind of mugs, usually from all over the world. whenever I travel or someone Else I know travels, I have them bring me back a mug. And he REMEMBERED.. :P and sent me a muuuuug. I loves it soo much. lol

I have chosen not to make anything out of valentines day for my PPs, it just doesn't feel right when I have a boyfriend. I know some already attached ladies ARE sending a card to their pp and that's cool but for me it just doesn't feel right, especially when I had this drama with my PP over his feelings and sh!t. I hammered it home how we're just friends, so sending him a valentines card would just throw a spanner in the works and fcuk his head up IMO.
But I'm going to a hotel with my boyfriend for a few days, it's just in a local seaside town but it's 'our' special place =)

They make tons of V-day cards for friends/family/the works. I've sent out cards to my godparents, my brothers, my best friend.... and as much as I like them, I don't do incest and what not. LOL

Well I put my 'real boyfriend' and his feelings before my PP.
I don't think he has a problem with it (if I was to send my PP a card) but me and my PP had this drama where he said I was giving him mixed feelings (I was just being friendly, nothing more, nothing less) so in my mind, sending a valentines day card IS sending 'mixed feelings'. TBH I don't think he gives a fcuk about it anyways, he thinks all holidays are bullsh!t, and it's not like I'm his only PP, he has a few girls on the case so I'm sure he will get hit up with a few cards =)

I think one thing that you probably may not realize is that in a lot of other countries Valentine's Day is celebrated differently. It is difficult for them to find a card that says simply Happy Valentine's Day FRIEND. Overseas the holiday is mostly for LOVERS so any cards that she is likely to find are going to reflect that. It's not a Hallmark holiday where you can buy Valentine's Day cards for your 5 year old nephew like you can here. In Karleigh's situation, she's doing exactly the right thing especially with the fact that this dude has already gotten his wires crossed and thinking she's sending mixed signals.
I always make my own cards, with the help of my computer, my printer and bits and bobs I buy from eBay to decorate. As cards going into prisons cannot have any decorative items on them, I found it hard to design cards for my pals..but I managed it as I didn't want my guys missing out, if their cellies were getting stuff from wives/girl friends etc. I made them each an individual card (to a friend) and inside I wrote in fancy font a beautiful poem that I found that was for friends on Valentines Days...apparently it brought tears to a tough guys eyes...I did the right thing. My hubby thought they were lovely and didn't mind at all, he said it was nice so that they weren't left out. He wasn't threatened by it as I shared the whole making it and sending it thing with him...but I do understand Karliegh's opinion about it, her pal kinda caused some drama and could have taken a card the wrong way...I'm just glad I made my boys happy, so they had something to put up on a day when everyone in there will be getting spoilt.
This is very true and I see your point... I guess I have to go back and think about my recent bout with a 'physical' ex of mine... Tried to be his friend and he took it as we were in a relationship again after the 3 years of hell he put me through =(
Yepp, here in Europe it is a holiday for lovers. Sending ur Nephew a card would just be creepy.
Valentines always makes me kinda grumpy, so i will reuse something i say every year when people talk to me about valentines: Love is an illusion for people who are afraid to die alone.
That made me sound like a really bitter old man, but perhaps that is what I am :(

In the UK maybe its also odd to send a friend a Valentines card, but as my pals all live in the USA where it is acceptable to send a Valentines card to a friend, that's why I chose to send them one...I even sent real-time jpay messages to two of them on the day, both of them were very happy to have those Valentine wishes.

I got a card too, totally unexpected, but I love it!
I felt super guilty for not getting him anything (even though he stressed it was a bullsh!t holiday) so I made him a personalised Moonpig card and sent it the other day =D
I also didn't expect it! I saw the envelope and oooh my heart started to race like crazy when I saw his name on it because we never send eachother stuff, except for emails and pictures. It was sooooo sweet! And like you, I also felt guilty for not getting him anything so I've sent him a supercheesy card haha, totally unexpected :)
