I do agree about the guards bringing in the drugs. Most definitely. But I can attest that not EVERY inmate who says he's gay is running a scam. My boyfriend is in prison in Kentucky and I know for a fact that he's very gay. There are exceptions to every rule. I do think that a majority of these 'gay' Kentucky inmates aren't being totally honest. The best advice I can give is to proceed with caution until you have the proof you need.

I do know that every single male inmate I have wrote off here listed as gay, is not gay its a way of life straight men pretend to be gay just to conned others guys out of money. They will write you the most heart melting letters to get you to fall for them, than they got you. Its a whole racaterring they are doin in there and the prison doesn't even care. I have called K.S.P several times and they do nothin about it. They act like its just a big joke, and how are they getting in drugs when theres no contact visits, its the guards sellin it to them they are making big bucks off those inmates.

What does it matter what someone else's experiences are? We're all different! Just because I get along wonderfully with my PP doesn't mean everyone else will find him funny, friendly, kind, interesting, etc. You might find him obnoxious or boring. Who knows?
A particular penpal might not work out for you. You might not have enough in common to sustain a friendship through correspondence. But that's life. It happens in the workplace, in the neighbourhood and in other aspects of life too. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with either of you. In fact, it means that there is plenty RIGHT with you and you're both individuals. Wonderful!
If, on the other hand, the OP is concerned about his/her penpal insofar as the writing style or frequency may have changed dramatically recently giving cause for concern regarding the mental state of the inmate, it might be prudent to discuss this with any other penpals she may have to see if they have noticed a change and, if necessary, place a call to the unit to express concern.

I would advise to stay far away from doing this. I think it just will cause problems. I wouldn't share experiences that I've had with my pen pals with anyone else because it may be totally different with you and what is between my pen pal and me is private. If you have reservations then you need to figure that out on your own.
My first thought was that you want to see if anyone is writing the same girl in a sort of sneaky way.
Added thought: It is important why because there are some people that just want to cause problems. It could be an ex looking to see who is writing their girl or another pen pal who is jealous that someone else might be writing. Think very carefully before you reveal any details about your pen pals and who they are.

I could think of some obvious reasons. But is it really important to know WHY someone wants know who else is writing his pp? Isn't that something between the op and whoever decides to contact him in a pm?

But isn't it okay to post initials and a location and then ask people to contact you by private message?
