I was wondering how you can go about checking on an inmate. My PP and I were writing each other for a good 5 months and then all of a sudden the letters became less and less, and now I haven't heard from her in over 4 months. :acry2: I want to know how we can find out if things are okay. I know they won't tell anything as we are not relatives or anything, unless you are. So if anyone could tell me how to go about this I would greatly appreciate it. I have sent letters to her almost everyday, and tonight I wrote her again, but haven't heard nothing back.

The thing Id suggest is calling the prison but other than that its just playing the waiting game. There could be many reasons why she hasnt written back to you.
Hope you hear from her soon.
I'm not sure they will tell me anything about her as we are not relative or anything like that. I have thought about doin' just that and haven't as I don't know how good it's gonna do me. I wrote her a letter today and it's in the mailbox waiting to be picked up. I don't know if it's a financial reason she's not writing, but for what good it might not do, I did put in a pre-stamped envelope, don't think she will get it, but I tried. Hopefully I will hear from her soon. Thanks for the help fee!
In my experience they won't tell you MUCH but they will tell you something. If you call the prison they may tell you she got transferred or she is in the SHU or she is maybe being held in some other special custody. They may even tell you she's in the infirmary but of course they probably wouldn't tell you why. I have had counselors give messages for me - I doubt all would do such a thing but it's worth a shot. Just a couple of suggestions.
