Hello, I am relatively new to this but researched it thoroughly before getting started. My 2 new pen pals are a blessing. I have had wonderful interactions with both of them but haven't heard back in a couple of months. Do you think they have not received my mail or are not allowed to correspond due to the recent strike?

Not hearing back for a couple of months would probably either mean they didn't get it or stopped writing. Which happens, too... Didn't happen to me, (so far, at least), but it's not unheard of.
Drop a note and ask. There can be many reasons: sickness, being transferred, run out of stamps, etc.
