Writing to a LWOP inmate?? Pleae share experiences/advice

I've written to a few. Yep, it's long haul tough and yeah, depression and emotional issues. The main ones that I write to now are very long sentenced but not LWOP. We have discussed what is worse: the finality of LWOP or, having an open ended sentence that could turn out to be life WITH the tantalization of parole. They go through a lot with appeals and pardons and parole possibilities.

I think the important thing is to have hope for your life still having possibilities of possibility, even if you have life or life without. I'm sure this is difficult to foster in ways that I can't conceive of, but, having good pp's helps!
